"There's no denying it, the revolution is here." When delivering goods in a city, a cargo bike can deliver packages twice as fast as a van and is ten times cheaper to operate. What's more, they can cover 42% more ground and are 97% cleaner (CO2e). That's according to a new study based on data from Urbike - a cargo bike fleet operating in Brussels.
The study - conducted by Kale AI in partnership with Larry vs Harry and Urbike, aimed to provide hard evidence of what many people believe to be true; that when it comes to last-mile deliveries, cargo bikes are quicker and cheaper than vans in urban environments.
Claus Nordahl of Larry vs Harry - manufacturer of the legendary Bullitt cargo bike - tells the ICBF 2023 audience about the origins of the study, how it was carried out, and what the results were.
