Let’s make a healthy and moist orange cake using the BlendJet! This whole #orangecake has more fiber, antioxidants, minerals and less sugar added than a regular orange cake!
Prep time: less than 15 min
Servings: up to 16
🍊 INGREDIENTS 🍊
3 navel oranges or up to 5 smaller oranges
150 ml of oil of preference
3 eggs
2 cup of flour
1 tbsp of baking powder
6 tbsp of orange zest
2/3 to 1 cup of sugar (if the oranges are really sweet, use 2/3 instead)
🌀 DIRECTIONS 🌀
(1) Zest the oranges and reserve the zest
(2) Peel the oranges, cut in quarters and remove as many seeds as possible
(3) Add two navel oranges into your #blendjet and blend until fully juiced.
If using smaller orange variety, add extra oranges until you have up to 500ml of juice.
(4) Add your eggs, oil and sugar and blend until smooth consistency.
(5) Add your mixture into a bowl and then add all your flour, 3 tbsp of orange zest and baking powder. Mix everything gently until fully incorporated.
(6) Preheat your oven at 180C or 355F
(7) Bake for 35-40 minutes.
Avoid opening the oven before 30 minutes
(8) Once fully baked add the juice of 1 navel orange or 1/3 cup of orange juice on top of the cake while it cools down
Optional: once unmolded, top your cake with orange zest for extra flavor
Store at room temperature in an airtight container or covered with a cake keeper for up to five days.
