In this episode of India Upfront, the host Rahul Shivshankar will be discussing how a new dispute has surfaced in relation to the BBC documentary about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the riots in Gujarat in 2002. A BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi was staged at Hyderabad Central University by the Muslim Student Federation and Student Islamic Organization (SIO), popularly known as the fraternity group. Several pro-CPI(M) and pro-Congress organisations claim that Kerala will air the BBC documentary "India: The Modi Question," despite the BJP petitioning Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to prevent it from airing. The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the government's decision to block the BBC documentary regarding the violence in Gujarat in 2002. A few panelists join us. “The BBC documentary on PM Modi is a landfill of lies, selectivity, and shameless peddling of a fake narrative that has been demolished by the highest court in this land,” says Anand Ranganathan, Author.
