Firewire Revo Max Surfboard Review: First Session in 3ft Waves + Design Breakdown.
In this video, I test the brand-new Firewire Revo Max, Daniel Thomson’s performance twin fin, during its first small, clean surf session. Designed with versatility in mind, this board handles waves ranging from 2 to 8 feet, as Tomo himself proved by ripping at Lennox Head in big surf.
During my 3ft session, the Revo Max stood out with its speed, responsiveness, and ability to paddle and catch waves effortlessly, thanks to its 35.2L volume. Even in small close-out barrels, I could feel the hold and stability provided by the Vee Quad Concave—a hallmark of Tomo’s Modern Planing Hull designs.
Board Stats:
• Length: 6’0”
• Width: 20”
• Thickness: 2 11/16”
• Volume: 35.2L
This step-up twin and performance midlength hybrid delivers a seamless combination of speed, control, and rail-to-rail transitions. Stay tuned as I soon push this board into bigger surf and explore its full capabilities. Let me know your thoughts in the comments if you’ve ridden the Revo Max or similar Firewire designs!”
