⭕️ Sari is one of the most populous cities in northern Iran and the former capital of Iran, the capital of Mazandaran province. This city is the most populated and the largest city in Mazandaran province and one of the largest cities in the north of the country. Also, Sari is considered one of the oldest cities in Iran.

⭕️People from Sari are called Saravi. The city of Sari, located in the foothills of the Alborz mountain range, has two plains and foothills, and its height is up to 54 meters above sea level. The climate of Sari city is mild and humid in summers and relatively cold and humid in winters. This city, with mountains, forests and the sea, usually has a mild and humid climate. Although compared to other cities of Mazandaran, Sari has milder weather, but according to the statistics of recent years, rainfall has decreased in Sari.

⭕️The non-native population of Sari is small. The majority of the people of Sari belong to the Tabari ethnic group and speak the Sarvi dialect, which is a dialect of the Mazandarani language.

⭕️The history of life in Sari dates back to the Copper Age, and archaeological excavations in Sari led to the discovery of 6,000-year-old pottery and stone tools. Sari received more attention during the Safavid period. During the Qajar era, Agha Mohammad Khan Qajar, the founder of the Qajar dynasty, claimed the kingdom of Iran in Nowruz 1151 in Sari and called Sari the capital. But the source of prosperity and progress of this city was after the Qajars. The modern urban system of Sari started from the Pahlavi era, and Sari was one of the first cities in Iran where the construction of Iran's national railway began. After the end of the Second World War, the development of Sari continued and Sari became the center of population reception. This is the historical city of Dar al-Molk in Mazandaran.

⭕️ Sari is of special importance due to its location on the highway connecting the east to the center of Iran. This city ends with the Caspian Sea from the north and the forest and river from the south.

⭕️ Like other northern cities, Sari is one of the citrus producers and one of the hubs of rice and livestock products in the country.

⭕️ This city is considered one of the most important tourist centers of Iran and has a series of tourist attractions. The clock tower is a symbol of Sari and is more than 90 years old. According to the report of the Statistics Center in the summer of 2016, Sari was recognized as the first top touristic city in Iran with more than two million summer trips.

⭕️ The geographical location and proximity to the Caspian Sea and the mountains have caused the diversity of animal life in Sari, and a collection of mountain, forest, and plains animals, as well as native migratory birds and aquatic animals, have created diverse living conditions.
Semeskandeh, Dasht Naz, Dudange and Chahardange wildlife refuges and Bola protected area are located in the outskirts of Sari.

✅✈️This city has Dasht Naz International Airport, which is one of the busiest airports in Iran.

📌13th July is named Sari day. On this day, the archer Arash Kamangir threw his famous arrow, which many sources like Weiss and Ramin Sari consider as the place of this historical event.
