Nitrophos fertilizer use in Wheat Crop | Single super phosphate application in wheat field |NP | SSP |Abid Ali Agrarian
In this video, I will briefly explain the method of two important phosphatic and acidic fertilizers use in wheat crop. These are Nitrophos and Single Super Phosphate fertilizers.
Phosphatic fertilizers are usually applied in basal dose as starter fertilizers. It is recommended to use these acidic fertilizers in soils which have high pH or very heavy soils.
Potash SOP must also be applied in combination with Single super phosphate ssp or Nitrophos NP. Potash SOP may increase wheat grains average yield upto 12% to 15%.
First option: 3 to 4 bags of SSP are usually recommended at land preparation time before sowing in combination with SOP and Boron.
Second option: 1 Bag Nitrophos + 1.5 bags SSP + Boron at land preparation time before sowing and one bag Nitriphos at first irrigation.
Urea @ 1 bag should be applied at first irrigation.
Nitrophos and single super phosphate fertilizers are good alternatives of DAP fertilizer.
Nitrophos contains 22% nitrogen in ammonical and nitrate form. Nitrate form of nitrogen is more likely to leach down in soil. So nitrophos two bags application at the time of sowing seed is never recommended to avoid leaching losses. 20% phosphorus is present in NP fertilizer.
Single super phosphate ssp contains 18% phosphorus. Its availability and efficiency can be increased by applying half to full bag of urea
