On May 3-4, 2013, Stanford's Program in Law, Science and Technology hosted the Second Stanford-Peking University Conference on Internet Law and Public Policy.
The conference featured discussions on cutting-edge internet-related legal issues affecting companies and individuals in the United States, China and worldwide.
Panel 3 of the conference focused on Intermediary Copyright Liability and how while governments have taken the lead in addressing many of these issues, rights holders have also looked to private enforcement mechanisms such as copyright alert system. Panelists discussed what, if any, lessons should China and the U.S. learn from the other's experience.
