Thrilled to have been invited to honored and celebrate the Dame of Cao with spontaneous sacred chants and mantras in an informal setting.The Dame of Cao celebrates the sacred feminine in the universe. Thanks to the guitarist who played with the previous band and gracefully agreed to accompany me.
The greatest discovery of the “Dama de Cao,” at the site,in Trujillo, Peru was made by an archaeological team in 2006. In a tomb high up the side of the pyramid, researchers investigating an elaborately-painted burial chamber in a temple found the mummified remains of a fourth-century Moche ruler and wise woman. What shocked researchers, and the world, was that those remains belonged to a woman.
1500 years before South America had its first female head of state, the Dama de Cao (or Señora de Cao) governed from this pyramid. Over the last six years, her story has spread far and wide. The dame of Cao has become a symbol of women empowerment and also the balancing of the feminine and masculine energies in the human being and the universe.
