If you know what the first song I played is from, we're homies for life. The SY99 (and SY77, its 61-key brother) were sort of like the Yamaha Montage over two decades before the Montage. Obviously the Montage is far more powerful, but the SY99 featured a similar architecture which combined sample-based sounds with an FM synth engine. There were a lot of good sounds that made me forget I was playing a keyboard from 1991, it was hard to pick only a few. I tried to find some that had a nice balance of sample and FM tones.
