Researcher and scholar, Kenneth Cushner hosted this webinar as a precursor to the Mumbai Conference of the Alliance for International Education, 10-12 October 2014, Mumbai, India.

Dr. Cushner, a leading scholar and keynote presenter in Mumbai, gave a presentation followed by a discussion period on the importance, understanding and relationship between developing intercultural understanding and engaged teaching. The presentation integrated concepts and practices from the related fields of cross-cultural communication, intercultural education and cross-cultural training with an emphasis on how these can be instrumental in developing a foundation for teaching toward intercultural competence in the K -- 12 classroom.

The webinar was presented free of charge, supported by the Alliance for International Education, the Longview Foundation, Asia Society, Global Teacher Education, and College of Education & Human Development, Center for International Education at George Mason University.
