In a significant move for Make in India, the Cabinet Committee on Security cleared two major defence projects worth Rs 20,000 crore. This includes 12 Su-30 MKI fighter jets for the Indian Air Force and 100 K-9 Vajra howitzers for the Indian Army. The deal is set to boost indigenous manufacturing by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and Larsen & Toubro.
