In this video I unbox and setup on a Poundland ultrabrite branded smart plug (for only £7). One important thing to note is it you have to do the set-up process on the 2.4 ghz WiFi band and not the 5ghz, (just for the set-up process). So it might be worth investigating how to connect to the 2.4ghz on your phone and rooter first.
