Lessons Learned: Zero Trust Implementation in IOT Based Smart Buildings
The integration of systems is enough to give most network security teams heartburn. Utilizing the Zero Trust Model, the planning, design, and implementation of IOT based “smart” buildings and cities can be eased in its complexity to realize ROI quicker and can be applied to ensure that devices on the network are automatically micro segmented, limiting communication even at layer 2, while still allowing successful operation. This session demonstrates lessons learned from practical implementations of Zero Trust, and how Zero Trust was used to design an IOT integrated smart building. It will cover what methods are used when security is of the utmost importance, and segmentation of both vertical and lateral threats is a requirement. Advanced knowledge of IOT and TrustSec suggested, but not required.
