This poly tunnel is on the wrong side (North facing) of the garden really, so it hasn't been as great as we'd hoped. It is also covered in a green woven mesh cover, which blocks out a significant proportion of sunlight - not ideal, but it was already in the garden, so it seemed a waste not to use it.. We've used it for growing tumbling tomatoes, and strawberries from hanging baskets, lettuces, coriander, and basil.
The strawberries have set fruit and ripened as hoped, but the tunnel is permanently open at one end, and the birds have been at the berries! In the hanging baskets, the berries have again set fruit and ripened, and those that hang nicely over the side have been great, but those that sit on the compost have almost all rotted. A lesson for next year..
The tomatoes (tumbling tom) have set fruit really well (I think having the hive helps with the pollination, though it may be bumblebees and/or hoverflies) - it will be interesting to see whether they are able to ripen..
