Originally produced for the 1958 Iowa State University centennial celebration, this film was re-released for the centennial of the passage of the Morrill Act of 1862. Gives a re-enactment of Benjamin Gue's speech to the Iowa legislature for establishment of a college open to all. Includes comments from James H. Hilton, president of Iowa State, on the land grant mission of the university.
