The Labor Party has been “mouthing” net zero carbon emissions for years and the voters have now “caught up” with it, according to Sky News host Alan Jones.
“The by-election in the Upper Hunter on the weekend was a massive political metaphor,” Mr Jones said.
“The Labor Party, already struggling federally and at a state level to gain any cut through, had another seven per cent swing against them in the Hunter Valley, in the same week that the Tomago aluminium smelter… shut down three times.
“The next step on this net-zero carbon dioxide emission hoax will be a total shut down of manufacturing and business, if we are already not heading there.”
Mr Jones said Labor in New South Wales “pursued its gender equity argument” when Jodi McKay won the leadership.
“Not on ability, her political instincts are nil."
He spoke with Labor MP Chris Minns - who quit the NSW Shadow Cabinet on Wednesday after a dirt dossier was circulated.
Mr Minns said he “heard nothing” until 24 hours after the dossier was released to the media.
“No answers, no explanation as to why this had happened,” he said.
“So I felt I had no choice but to resign and not stay in the shadow cabinet any longer.”
