Honda is recalling over 200,000 SUVs in the United States due to a fuel leak concern, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall, which includes 205,760 vehicles, is due to the fuel filler neck tube and fuel filler pipe possibly separating, allowing fuel to leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire, the NHTSA said.
The recall affects certain 2023-24 Passport and 2023-25 Pilot vehicles, according to the NHTSA. Dealers will inspect and repair the fuel filler neck and pipe as necessary, free of charge.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 6, 2025, and owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is OKM.
Owners may also contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
