Fans who turned up at the purpose-built ABBA Arena in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Thursday night were given an unexpected treat when they got to see the lead singer of their favourite band in person.
Anni-Frid Lyngstad, also known as Frida, was in town for the cover concert honouring the iconic Swedish pop band. Her presence was announced to bewildered fans over the PA system as a spotlight shone on the singer who was among the crowds.
It wasn’t the first time Frida has been at one of her cover concerts. Earlier this year, all four members of the band made their first public appearance together in 36 years.
The ABBA Voyage concert series comes after the group released their first album in 40 years, also named Voyage.
The official TikTok page for ABBA Voyage on Saturday shared a clip of Frida waving to crowds at the Thursday concert, garnering over 20,000 likes in just 4 hours. Commenting under the clip, one person said: “Everyone there is soooo lucky.”
Another die-hard ABBA fan said: “I legit would cry if I was there”. A third person commented: “Such a classy lady and the show is spectacular.”
