ANNOTATION: Police are investigating after someone sprayed red paint across the facade of the Russian consulate. It happened on Friday. Police say it is being investigated as criminal mischief and deemed a possible bias incident. As of Monday, there were no arrests in the case, according to the NYPD. The vandalism in New York came as Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow signed treaties to illegally annex a large swath of eastern and southern Ukraine seven months after Russia invaded the country.
