Astronomers in Australia have announced the discovery of a pulsating radio source in the Galaxy unlike anything seen before. The object, which lies relatively nearby at a distance of just 4,000 light-years, was giving off huge bursts of energy, each lasting for about a minute, every 18 minutes.
