Why I Chose Sicily: The Investment Potential Behind My Dream Villa Purchase 🏡💰

In this episode, I'm sharing the reasons why I chose Sicily for my real estate investment, along with progress updates on my Sicilian villa renovation journey! This villa is more than a property; it's a dream that's slowly coming to life as I work to transform it into the ultimate off-grid retreat. 🌞

🔑 Episode Highlights:

Opening the Old Gates 🚪: After a quick morning routine with granola, Sicilian honey, and fresh berries 🍯🍓, I tackled the overgrown area around the gates to finally open them fully. A little WD-40 on the hinges, and I could finally drive into the garden! Having my car on-site makes transporting tools and materials much easier as I work on this renovation.

Exploring the Garden & Scenic Drive to Palermo 🚙: After parking in the garden, I took a moment to appreciate the beautiful trees around the property, from citrus to olive 🌳🍊. Then, it was off to Leroy Merlin in Palermo, with a scenic time-lapse road trip through Sicily's breathtaking landscapes-rolling hills, sunny beaches, and coastal views! 🌄🌊 At Leroy Merlin, I picked up essential supplies, including power tools and tiles for upcoming projects.

The Water Well Mystery 🕵️‍♂️💧 Back at the villa, I focused on investigating the property's old water well. Using supplies from my trip, I crafted a tool to measure the well depth. It turns out the well is about 20 meters deep with 2 meters of water, providing an estimated 565-769 liters! This could be a game-changer for off-grid living, especially with Sicily's hot summers. 🌞💧

Fitting the New Postbox 📮 To finish the day, I installed a brand-new postbox on the front wall, a small but significant step in making this villa feel like home. Bit by bit, these little improvements are bringing the property to life!
