The delivery, carried out by Rostec’s subsidiary “Kurganmashzavod,” included BMD-4M airborne combat vehicles and BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, both equipped with additional protection systems.
The upgraded vehicles feature enhanced armor, lattice screens, and “Nakidka” cloaking kits designed to reduce visibility in thermal and radar spectrums. Made from non-combustible materials, these kits are intended to increase the survivability of the vehicles in combat conditions, providing an extra layer of defense against modern battlefield threats.
A spokesperson from Rostec commented on the recent production achievements, stating, “For the first nine months of 2024, Kurganmashzavod increased the output of BMPs and BMDs by 20% compared to the same period last year. The facility is operating at a high pace, with some production lines running around the clock. This enables us to meet the requirements of the state defense order efficiently, delivering quality products on time.
