Produced by Ridley Scott, Child 44 is adapted from the first installment of the best-selling trilogy by Tom Rob Smith. Set in the Stalin era of the Soviet Union, Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman star in the story of a disgraced MGB agent in who is dispatched to investigate a series of murders. As an officer of the military police, Leo Demidov (Hardy) never questioned his patriotic duty. But when his friend’s son becomes one of the murder victims he is expected to deny the accusation of murder, even when the evidence points to involvement from those at the very top of party leadership.
