A look inside the studio of textile artist Sarah Symes. Here's an excerpt from the 4-page article featured in Studios Magazine in 2011 : "My studio is like a glass box. The sunlight pours in from oversize windows on all four sides illuminating everything inside. The decor of my studio is an expression of my interests. Colorful paper lanterns remind me that every day is a celebration. Inspiring images torn from magazines adorn my walls. I delight in NOT having to clear anything away anymore. I like my paints left out. I like my fabric in carefully ordered piles on the floor. I think creativity comes from letting go of life's rules. Almost as important as a place to work, my studio is a place to have fun. It's somewhere I want to spend time. Having comfortable chairs and a pile of magazines is crucial. And music is always a part of my day." Are you curious to see the work that comes out of this studio? Visit sarahsymes.com find out more!
