Appeal against the decision of Ouseley J of 26 July 2017 to dismiss the claim for judicial review. The claimant challenged the lawfulness of the Prevent Duty guidance issued to universities and higher education institutions in September 2015 on external speakers attending campus events made pursuant to section 29 of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 in order to explain how the institutions should give effect to their duty under section 26(1) of the Act to prevent people being drawn into terrorism, and challenged the collection, storage and dissemination of data by the SSHD's Extremism Analysis Unit (EAU).
