This 2012 Dodge Journey requires a tune up by replacing the spark plugs. Start by purchasing 4 from the auto part store. Disconnect the battery for starting then remove the screw on top of each of the ignition coils. Unplug each one and then simply pull them out of the engine. Get your spark plug socket and connect it to your socket wrench. get an extension (6 inch) (also using a 3/8ths socket wrench. lower it into the engine and connect to the spark plug head. Lefty loosey and uptight that guy. When the time is right lift the socket wrench out holding the the spark plug in hand. pull it out and put the new one in the spark plug socket. lower the guy and carefully tighten. Be very carefully because this not something you want to over tighten or break.
Its very easy to turn a simple job into a crazy nightmare so as i said be VERY careful.
Once all the plugs have installed properly you can place the coils back on each plug then connecting the electrical connector back into each one. Re screw the coil heads that were removed at the start. When everything is back together you can reconnect the battery. Turn you vehicle on and enjoy having completed your very own tune up.
In many cases you may need to replace your ignition coils and getting brand new ones. We didn't need to do this today but if you need to you already know how because we took them off and back on here so just add new ones if need be.
