Ai Weiwei on Alcatraz
Artist and activist Ai Weiwei's exhibition on Alcatraz Island debuts this weekend. The Chinese dissident has been a relentless critic of his own government - especially after shoddy construction of schools killed thousands of children in the Sichuan earthquake of 2008. Now, with the exhibit "@Large," Ai brings his take on freedom and imprisonment to one of the Bay Area's top tourist attractions and former federal penitentiary, Alcatraz. KQED's Mina Kim goes behind the scenes to see what went into the making of this exhibition.
