We’re going to look at a feature of Pulsar called failover subscriptions. Sometimes message consumers get backed up or crash all together. To help guard against that, you can have one or more consumers on standby, waiting to help. Setting the subscription type to failover tells Pulsar that when a primary consumer becomes unresponsive, a secondary should be promoted.
