Bob compares the features of the Durabook Z14i with the Panasonic Toughbook CF-31. The CF-31 is the lighter laptop, only weighing six pounds compared to the Z14i weighing 8.75 pounds. The Durabook comes with a 14-inch widescreen touchscreen while the Toughbook only has a 13-inch standard-definition touchscreen. The Z14i has a bigger keyboard and mousepad than the CF-31. The port covers on these units are pretty similar. The difference between them is that the CF-31 has rubber covers that go over the ports and the Z14i used doors that go over the ports.
Another difference between these two laptops is the carrying handles on these units. On the CF-31, they used titanium magnesium metal while on the Durabook they used a rubber handle that is very flexible. The docking port location is another difference between these two laptops. The Toughbook has its docking port on the back of the unit while Durabook has its port on the bottom of the unit. The next feature is that the Durabook has thick rubber bumpers held on by four screws which really helps make it rigid. One downside to the Durabook is the size of the laptop. It's bigger and weighs more than the CF-31.
