The draft of a new Electoral Code was submitted to parliament. It was approved previously by a parliamentary committee, and it fully revamps the electoral system of the country. If adopted, voting will be carried out in open, as opposed to fixed, party lists. Consideration of the new legislation could take up to 3 weeks, since there are 5 thousand proposed amendments so far.
