On an unexpectly lovely Sunday evening, Neil heads out from Thackthwaite in the north west of the Engigh Lake District, to visit two low Wainwright hills - Low Fell and Fellbarrow. Along the way, there is a song thrush, endless sheep, a spectacular view south over the whole Buttermere valley and west and north to the Irish Sea and Solway Firth, across the Cumberland plain. To the east is are the North Western Fells all the way across to Skiddaw and Blencathra.
The whole walk is around 5 miles long, with 502 m / 1,650 ft of ascent and descent, and should take around 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Check out the route here: [ Ссылка ]
