Took a trip up to the Catskills, for yet another explore.
This is the Homowack Lodge, one of a very small handful of standing Borscht Belt resorts that remain, albeit abandoned. Know as Spring Glen Resort as well as SpringMountainResort, Homowack closed in 2009 amidst some controversy, which involved the NYS Department of Health.
While prolonged mismanagement and lack of proper maintenance during its final years were key factors, it is sad to witness the toll vandalism has played in its continued decay.
