Mattel has been decorating Hot Wheels models with exclusive colors and putting them in multi-packs for several years now. Multi-packs can be 3-packs, 9-packs, 10-packs and even 20-packs that you see in Toys R Us. Sometimes, they wind up in track sets and play sets as well. These exclusive colors do not wind up in the basic single packages. 5-Packs are not classified as multi-packs because they have special themes and deco's for those gift packs. Models in the 5-packs do appear in 3-packs and multi-packs from time to time.
