Can a Single Parent Play Both Roles?

What up Fam! As many of you may already know, I was a single parent prior to getting married and becoming a wife and mom of a blended family. Being a position of being the only parent in the household for my son for over 5 years resulted in me having to navigate pretty much everything on my own from a parent perspective, as at that time there was not a consistent and effective co-parenting relationship with his bio dad.

We are going live tonight on my YouTube Channel 7:30pm CST to discuss the question of "Can a Single Parent Play Both Roles?"

For me, the answer is a solid no- as try as much as I may have, there were things my son needed from his father that I couldn't provide and didn't know how to navigate because I couldn't relate due to being a female.

How does this relate to being a blended family: Well, I'm glad you asked! Many blended families are formed when one or both adults are coming from being a single parent, and not having had the opportunity to be in a healthy and balanced co-parenting relationship with the other bio parent of your child can create some tendencies, habits and practices that may be causing issues in your blended family - like how to determine and walk in the right roles and responsibilities in your new family setting.
