Collected Works of Gottfried Keller in Five Volumes.
c.1929, Berlin. [popular Swiss author of German literature].
Set of five early 20th century WWI- WW II era German 1/2 leather bindings.
Smooth leather spines ornately gilt stamped and lettered, marbled boards; initially produced to appeal to a more popular market, relatively inexpensive leather bindings when produced, books today showing signs of wear, time and handling.
Condition: Leather remains supple, spine gilt quite bright and appealing on the shelf, contents mostly clean and tight. Joints rubbed and worn, some splitting to leather at some spine ends, some small scattered chipping, flaking, a couple bindings slightly shaken and/ or with loosened covers due to handling.
All volumes remain complete and clean, still a nice looking antiquarian set on the shelf..
Short video captures condition much better than words. Please watch prior to purchase to ensure a clear understanding of the set.
Books measure: 8" H X 5 3/4" W.
