The Women's Basketball team won the semifinals against Stetson University. The Women scored a 15-point turnover on Stetson with a score of 82-67. The Eagles (28-2), the top seed in the East Division, will next make their 11th straight appearance in the ASUN Championship game on Saturday night at 7 PM against West Division top seed Jacksonville State in Alico Arena.
The Eagles, who trailed by as many as 13 points in the second quarter, exploded in the second half to take control of the game. After trailing 34-28 at the break, FGCU heated up after the intermission hitting 11-of-17 from beyond the arc in the second half and were 18-of-26 (69.2%) overall. Four players scored nine-or-more points after halftime led by 12 from Kendall Spray who hit four three-pointers.
Overall, five different Eagles scored in double-figures led by Kierstan Bell's double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds. Emma List tied her season-high with 14 points thanks to a career-best four triples. Tishara Morehouse scored 12 points while adding seven assists and Karli Seay had 13 points off the bench. Andrea Cecil triple sparked a 9-0 run that gave the Eagles their first lead of the night on a Morehouse lay-up with 3:53 to go.
