Emmy-winning actor, Joe Pantoliano, appeared at Bryan Health on Tuesday, October 3 during Mental Illness Awareness Week.
Joe Pantoliano rose to fame as an actor with roles in multiple successful movies. He appeared in blockbusters such as Risky Business, The Goonies, The Fugitive, Bad Boys, U.S. Marshals and The Matrix. On the small screen, the New Jersey native won an Emmy for his portrayal of Ralph Cifaretto on the hit HBO series, The Sopranos.
Despite his professional success, Pantoliano was experiencing personal struggles. He was battling depression and an addiction to drugs, alcohol and prescription medications. Through treatment, therapy and support from his family, he overcame those obstacles. Today, “Joey Pants” shares his message of overcoming mental illness with people all over the world.
