In the 5th episode of our Poland series, we venture into the Tatra National Park to take the hike to Morskie Oko (Eye Of The Sea).

The hike is about 8km each way and takes around 2 and a half to 3 hours each way.

The scenery is absolutely stunning on the walk with the cloud hanging on the snow capped mountains, you honestly do not feel like you are in Poland.

Stopping off for a snack on the way, we take the slightly shorter route which provides a few comedy moments as the path is really slippery.

A bit further on we reach Morskie Oko, a lake surrounded by the mountains. It is hard to make the lake out in the winter as it is frozen solid and covered in deep snow. This does not take away from the beauty though and is absolutely spectacular.

We stop for a quick Piwo in the lodge by the lake before heading back down to the car park by a horse driven sleigh.

MO#orskie Oko is a must see for anyone visiting Zakopane.
