Par Station is on the line between Plymouth and Penzance and also the start of the Atlantic Coast line towards Newquay.
The station is managed by Great Western Railway with both Great Western Railway and the occasional Cross Country Trains services calling here,
Long distance services operated by: Cross Country Trains that call here are operated using Class 220/221 DMU's these services are very irregular with only one-two trains a day either heading towards Penzance or towards Plymouth and beyond
Great Western Railways long distance services call here on services between Penzance and London Paddington and vice versa using Class 800-802 DEMU's, these services operate roughly hourly towards Penzance and London Paddington,
At the most recent time of filming Class 43 High Speed Train (Castle Class) sets operated services through here, these Castle Class sets were made up of 4 Mark 3 Coaches and two Class 43 Powercars; These sets being created after the withdrawal of the standard High Speed Train from the Great Western Railway network in 2019.
The Castle Class sets are used mainly on the Cardiff-Penzance services via Exeter; but from December 2023 these Castle Class sets are set to be withdrawn due to safety concerns, Class 800-802 Diesel Electric Multiple Units are set to take over the Cardiff-Penzance services from this point.
Alongside the current Castle Class sets in operation: Class 150 and Class 158 Diesel Multiple Units are also used along the line on stopping services; Class 150's are also used on the Atlantic Coast Branch Line towards Newquay from here at Par.
