Kitchen Island Planning Tips || ***What you need to know for your perfect Kitchen Island***
Welcome back! In my last video, I brought you some input on different Kitchen Island Designs to find your initial island design concept. This video is like a part 2 and focuses on building standards so you can plan your island correctly. Sizes, walkways, seating heights and depths, and the biggest question, can I even fit an island in my space?!
When you watch the calculating section on understanding if you can fit an island in your space, here are the numbers again: Measure overall depth of the room - 25.5" for Perimeter (- another Perimeter if needed) - 42" Walkway (For single cook, or 48" walkway for two cooks) - 42" for the second Walkway on the other side of the island = Space you have left for your kitchen. The smallest island depth is usually 38.25" which includes a 12" overhang for seating.
I hope this video will answer the most common questions, but if you can think of anything else, drop me a comment below and I’ll make sure to get back to you.
