In this video I compare the current formulation of Winsor & Newton's 267 New Gamboge, made with Nickel Azo Yellow and Quinacridone Red (PY150 and PR209) with a half-pan I found of the old formulation (changed in the last decade, I think), which was a single-pigment paint using Nickel Dioxime Yellow (PY153), to show why I dislike the current, muddy formulation so much.

TO BE CLEAR re: my rant about Pip Seymour's company - my issue is that they don't reply to emails at all, not that they've refused me any samples! I don't expect any company to give me products to review, but it's nice when they at least have the manners to reply to you and to talk to you about their products - but Pip Seymour just don't seem to want to engage tbh.

If you also find 267 New Gamboge (PY150 + PR209) to be annoyingly muddy, try 653 Transparent Yellow (PY150) to get a very similar paint without the muddyness.
