On 14 June 2021 Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia marked 80 years since the first wave of mass deportations carried out by the soviet regime. Tens of thousands of people, including babies and elderly from the Baltic states died in Siberia and many more came back to their countries to find their former lives destroyed.
To commemorate this tragic occasion, The Embassies of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia in Washington, D.C. invite you to a virtual discussion “The Day of Mourning and Hope: the Living Memory of Soviet Deportees and Displaced Persons of the Baltic States.”

- H.E. Māris Selga, Ambassador of Latvia to the U.S.
- H.E. Kristjan Prikk, Ambassador of Estonia to the U.S.

- Mara Lazda, Ph.D, Associate Professor of History at Bronx Community College;
- Marija Čyvas, President of the U.S. Lithuanian Youth Association, participant of "Mission Siberia'2019";
