In this scene, Spanish friar Vicente de Valverde y Alvarez de Toledo told Atahualpa to convert to the Christian faith. Atahualpa had never seen a book and was confused, so he tossed the Bible. Through a misunderstanding, the Spanish thought that Atahualpa showed aggression against the religion.
