As part of Greenpeace Southeast Asia’s twentieth anniversary and its commitment to realise a turn for the better, we teamed up with talented Indonesian recycling artist Intan Anggita Pratiwie to produce a brand-new, limited-edition upcycle merchandise collection called “Kembali” that will be sold to the highest bidders.
Intan, who is the co-founder of sustainable fashion movement Setali Indonesia and fabric waste recycling community Sightfromtheearth, has been recycling fashion since 2004 as a way to promote action towards social and environmental issues. This is reflected in her work with growing social enterprise Setali Indonesia, which aims to empower the general public in reducing fashion waste by inviting them to declutter their belongings and donate unused items to resold or recycled.
For “Kembali”, Intan will upcycle Setali Indonesia’s inventory of used clothing and combine them with an array of material that have been used in environmental protection campaigns by Greenpeace Indonesia – such as banners and placards – and using natural ingredients like pandan, finely chopped secang, coconut husks, mangosteen rind, and turmeric as colouring.
Set to comprise various handiworks ranging from fashion products to home accessories, “Kembali” is a call to action for people to process, mix, modify, and reuse everyday items as a way to care for the environment and show that change can start from one’s own home and kitchen.
Registration for the auction can be made at [ Ссылка ]. Follow Greenpeace Southeast Asia’s Instagram account at instagram.com/greenpeacesea for more information about the auction and Greenpeace Southeast Asia’s twentieth-anniversary celebrations.
