Kia Motors is recalling some 377,000 Sorento SUVs in the United States over a shift lever issue.
Documents posted on Thursday by the South Korean automaker with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the vehicles can roll away unexpectedly.
The recall covers 2011 to 2013 model Sorentos made at their Georgia plant.
The transmission was found to shift out of park without pressing the brake, a safety violation.
Kia said it began an investigation in August when a lawyer claimed that a gear shift lever problem caused an injury and then found 54 warranty claims that led to the recall at the end of September.
