The Supreme Court of India, led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and including Justices Sanjiv Khanna, BR Gavai, JB Pardiwala, and Manoj Misra, extensively interrogated lawyers regarding the potential revelation of unique identifiers linked to Electoral Bonds.
In a ruling on Monday, the court declined to mandate the disclosure of electoral bond details from the initial issuance date of March 1, 2018. Presently, the court has instructed the State Bank of India (SBI) to divulge information concerning bonds sold between April 12, 2019 (the date of the court's interim order) and February 15, when the scheme was deemed unconstitutional.
This decision stems from an interim order issued by a bench headed by former Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, which directed the disclosure of certain details regarding Electoral Bonds.
