Tony Simons, Director General of the World Agroforestry Centre, explains the need to better integrate the agriculture and forestry sectors to reduce deforestation. Improved food production can be achieved through diversification and intensification; at the same time, through a landscape restoration approach, we can also maintain and even increase the precious ecosystem services that trees and forests provide.
