The Marshall 1959HW hand wired is one of those guitar amps that when you have played through a 'Plexi' amplifier you will never forget that experience. This amp is made basically how they used to make guitar amps back in 1968 and 1969 - made for men! (and maybe women too!).
This is a very heavy amplifier and the cost is very high, let alone the overall volume can be earth shattering... so why would anyone even consider one of these as a serious choice for a guitar amplifier? Well, the answer is simple - its the tone that you get from one of these when you crank up the amplifier. Unfortunately at first glance (or hearing) you might immediately decide not to buy one. But that would be a very big mistake.
Today, this tube amplifier can be tamed - you don't have to play arenas to use one) with equipment readily available and it can even be flat out, but quieter than a mouse. But the main advantage over near enough everything else is that guitar tone... it surpasses most everything else out there.
In this video I examine the 1959HW hand wired amp as no one does in any review and take a really close look at the quality of the build, at the components used, and importantly, offer advice on how you can tame this amplifier so it can be used without any volume issues that you would otherwise experience. Playing one of these will leave you in no doubt about who the king of rock amp makers really is.
This is my 300th review on YouTube and what a fine Marshall amplifier I chose for this occasion.
The rest of the series covers modifications, other model Marshall amps such as the JTM45 30 watt amp and the Studio JCM800 STEALTH that's released any time now. I also cover the aspect of accessories such as volume attenuation and load boxes and other things on other videos such as the 1959HW biasing and fitting new tubes. I sincerely trust you like the whole series.
