Speaker burn in is real.
Your new speakers should be burned-in (or breaked-in) to sound best, as the designers meant.
Burn-in loosens drivers suspension, but also affects crossover components.
As most of the dynamic speakers reach 90% of their potential after ~100hours of listening, doing this in controlled way will let you enjoy full speakers potential earilier than in a few months (1h daily x 100 days = more than 3 months).
This is my way of doing it efficiently: with quite high volume levels, but in silent and unobtrusive way.
Please share you experiences - I'm always eager to learn new stuff.
