Volkswagen Golf MK2 Build Episode 8: Start Up and Test Drive
In this video, I show you guys some issues I encountered with my 1992 VW MK2 Golf getting a gas leak from an injector O-ring. I explain why I had to go back to running the stock air box and what it would need for me to run the cone filter intake. I address this issue along with a coolant leak before taking the car out for a test drive. It felt OK aside from probably needing an alignment. I forgot to mention at the end of the video that my friends helped me figure out the trans fluid leak which was coming from the speedometer cable plate which initially had the wrong bolt installed. The plate was also not seating onto the transmission properly. I had to wiggle it for a few minutes before it finally seated on properly. The fender to hood grounding strap did not end up fixing my radio interference issues but the good news is that Hagerty gave me a pretty decent quote. I am excited to get the MK2 back up and running!
